DocumentsOnline allows you online access to the Public Record Office's collection of digitised public records including service registers of more than 500,000 UK and Ireland seamen who joined the Royal Navy between 1853 and 1923. Searching the index is free, and it costs £3.50 to download a digital image of a document.
